Summer 2021

Summer Time, Sum, Sum, Summertime!

With the pandemic mostly behind us, let's celebrate and join our neighbors at the pool this season. Charlton Hill's pool will open on Saturday, May 29.

NEW is a word you will hear frequently because the board and management have approved several changes to upgrade the appearance of Charlton Hill. By now, you have probably seen the new row markers and guides. The numbering system will continue and further signage will arrive in the next several weeks.

SHEDDING A LIGHT ON THINGS! New coach lights for our exterior entry and patios have been ordered and will be installed this summer. If you can't wait to see what they look like, check out the sample outside of unit #4. Speaking of numbers, the replacement, individual unit numbers have arrived and installation will be ongoing.

LANDSCAPING improvements are evident about the development. Southgate Landscaping removed several dead and diseased shrubs. Numerous trees were also trimmed and/or removed. The open areas in front of some condos will receive more appropriate shrubs and plantings to our New England environment. Southgate has generously made initial improvements without charge and our community already looks better.

  • The Hamden Democratic Town Committee, and our voting District One, will hold its annual meeting on SATURDAY, JUNE 19, 4:30PM on Zoom. The meeting will last approximately one hour. This is your chance to inquire about the State of the State and Hamden. Representative, Josh Elliott, will join us to discuss the numerous bills passed in the State. Resident, Christine Whitten, is Chair of District One and invites all registered Democrats to join the meeting. If interested, contact Christine through:

    CHCommnews@gmail.com

You can also join through the Hamden Democrats Facebook page.

POOL COMMITTEE: Chaired by Nancy Gallucci, has been hard at work sprucing up the surface area. New tables will arrive soon and planters are being refreshed. Please read the rules regarding the pool. Food will be allowed, however, all must take care to clean up after themselves by removing any trash and refrain from eating in or near the pool. The annual pool party will be announced soon. Look for an email from CPE Management.

HELP KEEP CHARLTON HILL CLEAN! Residents have noticed empty water bottles and other trash being left on the grounds surrounding the development. Please deposit your trash...in your trash! Also, dog owners are reminded to pick up after their dogs. Hamden levies fines against dog owners who do not cooperate.

NEW RESIDENTS continue to move into Charlton Hill. An update will be posted once folks are settled in and the Welcoming Committee officially greets these new neighbors.

VINTAGE CHARLTON HILL:

While writing this blog, I pulled out this brochure that was created by former board members. Thanks to those before us, Charlton Hill remains a very "marketable" and desirable community.
